I am a person of many professional roles – clinician, teacher, administrator and mentor. I love the diversity of what I do and am blessed to have the opportunity to participate in so many adventures as a founding faculty member of the UCF College of Medicine.
I came to UCF in 2008, one of handful of faculty, to begin the work of creating a new medical school. Students came one year later and the college has seen tremendous success and growth in the past four years. I currently serve as a clinical educator of third year medical students as Clerkship Director of our Core Clerkship in Internal and Family Medicine. Prior to this I have held leadership roles in the first and second years of the medical school curriculum. I serve extensively in curriculum review and modification as the Chair of the COM Program Evaluation Subcommittee. I also care for patients and serve an administrative role as Medical Director of UCF Pegasus Health, our multispecialty faculty practice plan serving the Central Florida Community. In this capacity, I enjoy the specialties of adolescent and women’s health. I love the opportunity to mentor medical students through their four years at the College and enjoy the camaraderie of my fellow faculty members and clinicians. Developing the clinical venue at UCF Pegasus Health has been particularly rewarding as we strive to provide excellence in patient care and service to the community. I have research interests in medical education and student well-being. Our clinical enterprise hopes to be a clinical research site in the future as well.
