Re: Fourth Annual LIFE @ UCF Award for Women Faculty to Celebrate Our Role in Promoting President Hitt’s Strategic Goals, with 2017 Awards for UCF Women Faculty Excellence in Academic Partnerships

UCF is trademarked as America’s Partnership University. To celebrate the role that women faculty have played in this achievement, we will hold a reception in March and announce the winners of the Life @ UCF Women Faculty Excellence in Academic Partnerships Awards.  With thanks to Life @ UCF for funding, we want to honor women faculty who have established and are currently running academic partnerships, especially within the central Florida region. We hope to celebrate partnerships with pre-K through high schools; other institutions of higher education; non-governmental organizations; local, regional, state and federal agencies; businesses and industries, just to name a few. We expect to celebrate partnerships that are as diverse as our faculty and their interests.  These academic partnerships must be current and related to your teaching, research and/or scholarship at UCF.  Partnerships can be formal (i.e. includes a memorandum of understanding) or informal (e.g. service-learning project with local school); they can also be funded or unfunded.

All women faculty who apply for the Life @ UCF Women Faculty Excellence in Academic Partnership Award will be invited to a formal reception on Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Honors College reading room along with their partnership representative. From this pool of applicants, the four most meritorious (i.e. best represents UCF’s strategic goals) will be selected to receive professional development award of $150. Applications will be accepted from full-time instructors and lecturers (all ranks); librarians (all ranks); instructional designers (all ranks); and assistant, associate, full, research and clinical professors. No faculty on adjunct lines will be considered.

Please submit a PDF of a one to two page application (single or double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins) to Ms. Fran Ragsdale (fran.ragsdale@ucf.edu) by Friday, February 24, 2017 at 5 PM  that includes all of the following: Your Name, College, Department, Rank, Email, Phone Number, Partnership Institution, Name of representative from partner institution, Representative’s title & address & phone number & email,  and your statement that details the background, need, establishment and on-going nature of your community partnership.  If you have any questions, please contact the CSWF Director Dr. Linda Walters at linda.walters@ucf.edu.   Only one application is allowed per faculty member. If you partner with more than one institution, please focus on the partnership that best highlights your success.
